Branding

What Makes a Great Animated Logo

The principles behind logo animation that survives a thousand plays: duration, easing, sound and the single idea rule.

One idea, under two seconds

A logo sting is watched hundreds of times by the same viewer. Anything clever becomes irritating on the fifth play. The best stings do exactly one thing and land in 1.2 to 2 seconds.

Easing is the brand

A sharp, mechanical ease reads as engineering. A soft overshoot reads as consumer warmth. The curve carries more brand meaning than the effect.

Build the suite, not the film

Deliver the sting, an endframe, a looping version, a transparent-background export and a sound-off variant. Anything missing gets improvised badly by an editor later.
